A lucky coincidence brought BabyPaul and Miller together for an engagement in the desert of Egypt. Songs like "Russian Girl" and "Talking to myself" (both on their first CD) have their origins here. From that point on, foreign places and cultures have become vital to their musical performance.
The German duo missed the natural element and moved to the Canadian Rocky Mountains. In a little hut, not far from Calgary, on an Indian Reservation, they wrote songs like "Stay", "Tumblin' Angel" and "Beast of Prey". With 2 guitars, a double bass and 20 brandnew songs BabyPaul and Miller went to New York and worked in the famous "Wha Band!" for some 6 months. The daily performance in New Yorks hottest Band with guest musicians from the Rock-, Pop- and Soul Scene and also "Classical Maistros" of the "Juilliard School" of New Yorks Metropolitan Opera was a brilliant musical education for Miller's voice and BabyPaul's skills on guitars and bass. Miller's background as a scholarship student of the famous "Broadway Dance Center" in New York and "Joe Tremains' Video Dance Academy" in Los Angeles helped also creating the unique appearance of BabyPaul and Miller.
After surviving the "Big Apple" BPM accepted a one week engagement on Bora Bora in Frensh Polynesia. The musical ambiance of the South Pacific Islands made them stay for more than half a year! "It looked as if everybody was playing guitar or ukulele, and you could always hear drums and people singing and dancing." There also is a Club Scene in Papeete - capital of Tahiti - and so BabyPaul and Miller formed a band with local musicians. They performed almost every day on the Islands of Frensh Polynesia. Here they wrote songs like "Sailor in the Storm", "Wonder Why" and "C'est la Vie".
Next BabyPaul and Miller wanted to produce and publish their own material. That's why they went to California, to play and hang around in Clubs und Studios in order to find new ways to express their music. They wanted to connect their multicultural experiences and the way they felt and wrote music. Now listening to their songs, you can't help but notice the original "Tahitian Music Segments" and acoustic guitars that are living in perfect harmony with harsh metal drum arrangements embeded in smooth melodies. Great hooks, the unique production of BabyPaul and the strong voice of Eddy Miller guarantee a musical experience hard to be heard somewhere else! For print version of this biography click here.
